BBQ Boys - 2012 at the Homestead

For the 19'th time in a row the four BBQ Boys got together with spouses and friends to celebrate another year. This year we held it at our new country home near St. Marys and by all accounts it was as successful as all the other 18 times we have gotten together. Thanks everyone for coming and especially our friends ... Penny and Gary, Blair, Don and Trudy and my sister Bonnie and hubby Tom who came for the first time. And it would not have been nearly as successful without the help of Laura who worked her heart out on Friday and Saturday morning to prepare most of the food. My job was easy ... put the ribs on the slow cooker ... anyone  could have done that but to make multiple salads and desserts and prepare the fish and appetizers ... well that's REAL work and Laura did a lot of it with many pitching in on Saturday of course. And thanks to Peter and Bun and Tom who came up on Friday night and helped get the place at least a little respectable for Saturday. And finally Lucy and I would like to thank everyone for the gift certificate ... you didn't have to do that and Penny and Gary for bringing desserts and the beautiful Birdhouse.

From now on we are going to ask every new guest to bring a birdhouse which will add a lot of character to the yard.
